Payment policy
PUPPY PAYMENT
If we have an available Rottweiler puppy and you wish to proceed with a purchase, the purchase price is due in full at the time of reservation. In other words, once a Rottweiler puppy has been born, payment in full is required to reserve that puppy. Deposits and payment plans are not available for puppies that are already born.
No Rottweiler puppy will be transferred unless:
The full purchase price has been paid
All delivery or transport costs (if applicable) have been paid in full
All required purchase paperwork has been completed
If you wish to purchase a Rottweiler puppy from an upcoming litter that has not yet been born, you must first join DKV Rottweilers’ waiting list by submitting a waiting list deposit.
Please note: Angel Gutierrez, breeder of DKV Rottweilers, reserves the right to retain or refuse the sale of any Rottweiler produced in our kennel at his sole discretion. All DKV Rottweilers are sold as family companions only and will be placed with limited AKC registration.
WAITING LIST
A deposit is required to join the DKV Rottweilers waiting list. This deposit will be credited toward the final purchase price of your Rottweiler puppy.
Once the waiting list deposit is received, it constitutes a commitment by the Purchaser to DKV Rottweilers and is therefore non-refundable. Upon joining the waiting list, you officially become part of the DKV family and will receive priority service, including:
Placement on DKV Rottweilers’ official waiting list
Exclusive updates and early information regarding upcoming litters
The opportunity to reserve a puppy before availability is opened to the public
Waiting list placement is determined strictly by the date payment is received. Your position on the waiting list remains valid for up to 24 months.
Please understand that joining the waiting list does not guarantee a puppy from a specific breeding and does not “freeze” a purchase price.
When a litter is born, DKV Rottweilers will contact Purchasers on the waiting list in the order deposits were received. At that time, the Purchaser may:
Reserve the next available Rottweiler puppy, at which point the remaining balance is due in full, or
Choose to remain on the waiting list for a future litter
Once the waiting list has been fully contacted, any remaining puppies will be offered to the public.
PAYMENT METHOD
Effective January 1, 2024, DKV Rottweilers uses Square as its exclusive payment platform. Square allows us to securely accept payments by invoice, phone, in person, and through seamless website integration.
Square accepts all major credit and debit cards and applies a 3% processing fee (2.9% + $0.30), which is consistent with industry standards. Additional Square-supported payment methods include: ACH Bank Transfer, Cash App Pay, and Gift Cards. Square also offers Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options for DKV merchandise purchases, allowing eligible customers to split payments into four interest-free installments.
Square is a secure, trusted, and widely used payment platform, and we are proud to use it exclusively.
PAYMENT PLAN
While on the waiting list, Purchasers may request approval for a payment plan. Payment plans allow clients to reduce their balance over time prior to a puppy becoming available.
Approved payment plans:
Require a minimum payment of $100 per month
May not exceed $500 per month
May total up to 50% of the puppy’s purchase price
Payment plans are offered at our discretion and are designed to help responsibly manage the ongoing needs of our kennel and home.
DKV CREDIT
Any payment made to DKV Rottweilers, Angel Gutierrez, and/or Liz Gutierrez represents a commitment to our kennel and is non-refundable.
If a Purchaser later decides not to proceed with purchasing a Rottweiler puppy for any reason, all payments already received will be converted to a DKV credit. This credit:
Never expires
Remains valid for as long as DKV Rottweilers remains in business
May be applied toward a future DKV Rottweiler puppy at the time of purchase
If a Purchaser returns after the 24-month waiting list period has expired, their position on the waiting list will be reset, though their credit remains fully intact.
MISCELLANEOUS
This is a brief policy interruption - if you’ve made it this far, kudos to you. We invest a great deal of time building and maintaining our websites, and we genuinely appreciate when prospective families take the time to read our policies.
Not only does this show responsibility and care in choosing where your Rottweiler comes from, but we also believe it reflects the level of care and commitment you will provide to your future DKV Rottweiler. We truly value that effort.
When completing our buyer questionnaire, you will see a question asking whether you have any questions about our payment policy. If you have read this section, please type the keyword superman in your response. This helps us recognize and prioritize questionnaires from applicants who have carefully reviewed our policies.
Now, back to our payment policy.
ONLINE SECURITY
We understand that purchasing a Rottweiler is a significant decision for your family. In today’s digital world, it is more important than ever to be cautious when making purchases online. Below are a few key safety considerations we encourage all buyers to keep in mind.
Are you working with a real breeder?
This may seem like an obvious question, but many people mistakenly believe they are dealing with a legitimate breeder simply because they received puppy photos. Unfortunately, online images are frequently stolen. We have personally experienced our Rottweiler photos being used by others without permission, which is why we now add logos to our images.
One way to verify authenticity is to perform a Google image search. By uploading a photo, Google will show you where that image appears online. This can quickly reveal whether the photo belongs to the person you are communicating with.
At DKV Rottweilers, we publish extensive photo and video content across our websites, YouTube channel, and social media platforms. We also share photos of every DKV puppy delivery on our Facebook page. This allows prospective buyers to see our dogs, our property, and our clients—providing real-world proof that we are a legitimate, established breeder.
Is the website legitimate and established?
Ask yourself:
Does the breeder have an official website with a registered domain name?
Is the website vague or hosted on a free platform?
How long has the domain been owned?
You can right-click on a website, select “View Source,” and check domain ownership through a WHOIS lookup. Longevity matters. We strongly advise caution when responding to advertisements on social media or online breed groups, as these are often high-risk environments for scams.
DKV Rottweilers has maintained the same website and domain name for over 27 years.
Is the email address professional?
While some legitimate businesses still use free email providers (such as Gmail or Yahoo), a professional business should be willing to invest in a domain-based email address. This means the business name appears after the “@” symbol.
DKV Rottweilers uses a business email: contact@DKVRottweilers.com
This matches our registered domain and confirms that we are using a paid, professional email service.
Are you dealing with a real person in the United States?
Be cautious if a breeder only communicates via email or text and refuses phone calls. Speaking directly with someone is one of the best ways to verify legitimacy. Ask questions about their location, request references, and see whether they are willing to have a real conversation.
At DKV Rottweilers, every potential customer completes a phone interview. Our phone number is (404) 850-9992 (EST), and it has remained the same for over 15 years. References are always available upon request.
What payment method is being requested?
Extreme caution should be used if you are asked to pay via Western Union, MoneyGram, Walmart-to-Walmart, prepaid money cards, or similar services. These payment methods are typically non-reversible and commonly used in scams.
DKV Rottweilers used PayPal exclusively for over 20 years and upgraded to Square in 2024. Square is one of the most trusted and widely used payment platforms for small businesses. While service fees may apply, we believe the added security and peace of mind are well worth the cost when making an important purchase.
Policies are subject to change without notice.
Submission of payment constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of the above terms.
